Treeskier LLC runs Treeskier Carpool. Here's what we keep and who sees it.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in and send trip notices.
- Your name and phone number.
- A rough area (a neighborhood or town, or a location rounded to about 1 km). Never your address.
- If you add them: a profile photo, your pronouns, your usual ski or board gear, and your cars (make, model, seats, gear storage; never license plates).
- The trips you post or join, the meetup lots you're open to, and reports you file.
- Messages you send in a car chat or to a driver. Only the people in that conversation see them. Admins see a message only if someone reports it. Chats close 2 days after the trip and are deleted 30 days after it.
- A basic activity log (for example “trip posted”) to run and improve the app.
Who sees what
- Signed-in members see your first name, last initial and rough area on trips you join or post.
- Your full name and phone number are shown only to the confirmed people in your car, from 7 PM the evening before the trip.
- Signed-in members see your photo and pronouns if you add them. Photos are shrunk on your phone and re-saved on our server, which removes hidden data such as the location where a photo was taken.
- People who aren't signed in see trips without names, photos, meetup lots or car details.
- Your email is never shown to other members without your consent.
Your data stays yours
- We never sell your data.
- We never use it for marketing without your consent.
Who we share with
The app and its database run on our own server, hosted by Oracle Cloud. Emails go out through Resend, an email delivery service. If you turn on phone notifications, they travel through your phone or browser's push service (such as Apple or Google), encrypted so that service can't read them. These providers handle data only to deliver their service.
